Also Present:
Kathy Vivas, Roger Leiton
Problems:

At ~7pm, pointing failed due to interlock error (photodiode).  System was reset several times, other errors occurred.  Full function restored at ~8 pm.
At 8:20 pm, "ICS now broken" error message.  Reset solved the problem.

Comments:

Good seeing even in u, better than previous night.

DES Observing Team

DES Observers: Stephen Kent, Richard Kron
Telops: Hernan Tirado, Alberto Alvarez
Remote Support:

Observing Plan

  1. 2nd half-night observing plan
  2. Handoff from 1st half observers at 04:46
  3. use 1st half standard bias and dome flat sequence
  4. two mid-point standard stars
  5. run ObsTac queue
  6. three morning standard stars
  7. defocus exposure if enough time
  8. morning bias

Conditions

  1. Continued no weather. Photometric all night.
  2. Decent seeing (0.9”) continued in spite of wind

Accomplishments

  1. afternoon bias and flats; flats look good
  2. Handoff 6 minutes early from 1st half observers 04:40
  3. midpoint standards

    • SDSSJ0100
    • SDSSJ2140
  4. Wide survey g,r,i,z,Y exposures
  5. morning standards

    • SDSSJ0320
    • SDSSJ0100
    • SDSSJ0000
  6. Defocus exposure

Problems

Failed to set a new record for best DES image in any band

Notes for data management

  1. Afternoon flats and biases 349940-350048 are from prop-id 2014B-0608

Other

  1. 1st half observers suffered a “sispi attack” – solved by a sispi reboot. By way of compensation, 1st half seeing was best of the run so far.
  2. DIMM back in service.
  3. Skype service was restored to observer1 and observer2.
