If the STALLED SYSTEM procedure fails to return the UNIX prompt, or an
examination of the operating processes by entering ps -aux in the
Console window reveals a process which cannot be halted via the
kill -9 <process number> command, it will be necessary to reboot the
instrument computer.
- Turn the instrument power OFF before rebooting: first ADU; then DCU.
- Reboot the instrument computer
- 1.
- Logout of the Sun Console
- 2.
- Enter the login name as halt
- 3.
- Enter the password docrash
- 4.
- When the console returns ``ok'' enter boot
- Login as ``irs'' on the instrument computer with the password
``XXXXXXXX''
- Answer <cr> to the ``xterm'' prompt
- Go to the Instrument Control window and continue with the
RESTART procedure below
