Comments: 

We found it more convienent to use one image of the slit and then just take single images for acquisition as opposed to using a new slit image every time we made an offset. This allowed us to not have the star in the slit when we were measuring the center to calculate offsets. Perhaps koffset1 could be modified to make this method more convienent.
