ENR CTIO Blanco 4-m 2016-06-06

Date:
Sunday, June 5, 2016
Telescope:
CTIO Blanco 4-m
Submitter:
Matthew Penny
Submitter Email:
penny@astronomy.ohio-state.edu
Observer Support:
Hernan Tirado
Night Assistant:
Alberto Alvarez
Also Present:
TIm Abbott (remote, La Serena), Bob Blum (remote, La Serena)
Problems:

Some of the exposures for Armin Rest were taken using the wrong prop-id, 2016A-0951. This affects exposures 547145 thru 547160.  The correct prop-id should be 2016A-0189. This issue also affects exposures 546814 thru 546819 from the previous night. Cause: prop-id was not included in one script. A potential confusing matter: seen from the remote facility at La Serena, in SISPI, it looked like the exposures were taken with the prop-id used for callibrations, but the image headers have 2016A-0951.

Exposures for Jacqueline McCleary were taken with the wrong prop-id, 2016A-0951. The correct prop-id is 2016A-0384. Exposures affected are 547526-547542. Cause: prop-id was not included in the script - sorry I should have checked.

The telemetry and exposure log windows were troublesome from ~05:00 UT onwards, and did not update regularly (i.e. no new data was shown). Refreshing did not help.

Comments:

Observations began at sun alt -10.

Observed ~45 min to repay Rest program 2016A-0189 for swapped time, plus some bonus observations during twilight.

Handed over control to Bob Blum observing remotely from La Serena at 00:07 UT

Matthew Penny resumed observations from Blanco control room at 03:20 UT

Conducted K2 Campaign 9 monitoring observations and reference image building

Observed ~50 minutes to repay Deboer program 2016A-0068.

Observed 1 hour 40 min to repay McCleary program 2016A-0384.

Observed 40 min during twilight to repay Sullivan program 2016A-0104
