NOAO technical and safety staff from Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) and Kitt Peak National
Observatory (KPNO), along with staff from Fermilab and other Dark Energy Survey partner institutions, collaborated
on the DECam [2] installation. Commissioning is now underway. You can also receive updates
and see new photos in the "Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO)" Facebook group [5].
The webcam images have been combined into daily videos posted on YouTube [6]. Here are a few highlights.
23 April 2012: Empty DECam cage installed (video) [7]
26 April 2012: Empty DECam cage removed (video) [8]
3 May 2012: Full DECam cage installed (video) [9]
19 June 2012: Telescope movement tests (video) [10]
Commissioning of DECam [2] with the Blanco 4-meter telescope [11] began in September 2012, with first light on September 11 2012.
