Observing Plan

 

  1. standard bias and dome flat sequence
  2. evening standards: Chose only one standard due to clouds. It was successful.
  3. run ObsTac queue
  4. middle/end of the night standard star
  5. handover to community observers (delete if n.a.)
  6. end of night calibrations

Conditions

  1. weather in afternoon: 4:00pm (local): Cool, partly cloudy
  2. weather after dinner: 7:00pm (local): Cooler, sky clearing a bit, but still some cover.
  3. weather after sunset: 9:00pm (local): clouds clearing
  4. weather during night: 11:00pm (local): few clouds; mostly clear.
  5. weather summary: 12:00am (local): clear
  6. weather summary: 04:00am (local): getting cloudy – high, thin clouds
  7. weather summary: 05:00am (local): more cloudy – high & thin
  8. Seeing conditions: Median: 0.95 RMS: 0.15

Accomplishments

  1. Afternoon: First DES run since 10/31/17. Calibrations were completed later than usual due to the camera being cooled down during the afternoon. Dome flats complete by 6:00pm – flats were checked and deamed good.
  2. Evening: Standards (693579-693584); only one set due to clouds. Included U-band.
  3. Survey Exposures: (693597-693599); (693690-693692); 693697; (693703-693705)
  4. SN exposures E1 (693585-693590), E2 (693591-693596), X1 (693600-693605), X2 (693606-693611), X3 (693618-693643), S2 (693644-693644), S1 (693650-693655), C3 (693656-693677); (693693-693696), C2 (693678-693683), C1 (693684-693689); Low-z S/N (693698-693702)
