The data handling software was not working well tonight. In the DHS VNC (monsoon), the scrmgr icon would disappear. As of 3:30am, it has happened 6 times since we have been opened tonight. The main sympton is that the smcmgr icon/window disappears, the exposure would continue, but would not read out at the end. I tried to push the data through by updating the status in the SHared Memory Cache, but the buttons were frozen. Up until the 4th time this happened, I just restarted the nocs. After the 4th time, I rebooted the cosmos computer rack. Any DHS/Monsoon experts are encouraged to chime in with their suggestions.
As mentioned in the previous night reports, the internal quartz lamp on a dimmer is highly variable. We had We took exposures of the quartz lamp at 26% (1s) and 27% (1s). The flats taken at the 26% setting barely show above the bias. The images taken on the 27% setting are saturated.

Many thanks to everybody who worked on installing COSMOS this afternoon. After COSMOS was on and connected, we took some images of the Quartz lamp in the calibration unit to see how much we would need to adjust M4 to get the light centered. For the time during the night when I was restarting the nocs or rebooting the computer rack, we observed DAs over a range of magnitudes and exposure times for use in our efforts of constructing a COSMOS ETC.
