Problems: 
  • The mapping between chip description and chip number as described in the DECam user guide is not correect (at least for the images we are trying.

For example, using
image #351927

S4 != 28 as per the "Sky Orientation of DECam"
S8 = 7 (as opposed to 19)
7 = S8
8 = S9
3 = S3

  • Display windows are quite "flickery", for exmaple the guider window suffers when the mouse pointer is placed over it, often displaying parts of other windows etc.
  • We observed at >2 airmass at approx UT01:00, which resulted in the TO needing to tweak the mirror shape, taking us temporarily offline. Lesson learnt - we will avoid observing through this airmass in the following nights. Observations were only interrupted for 5-10minutes.
