The principal purpose of this local archive is to provide information valuable to CTIO personel for the maintenance and testing of the DECAM instrument detector controller system - MONSOON.
All documents carry their original Doc DB number and version so that they may be traced back to the original source.

Each 12-Channel ACQ Transition Board has three cables which run between it and the VIB. The 16 pin cable carries the RTD signals, the 24 pin cable carries the video signals and CCD substrate voltage, and the 32 pin cable carries the bias voltages. Each Clock Transition Board has two cables which run between it and the VIB. The 60 and 80 pin cables carry the clock signals between the Clcok Transition ond the VIB connectionds to the CCDs. Clock Guider Transition Board
This is a special module constructed to fix a routing error on the VIB East. Clock groups A, B and C must drive G1S, G1S and G1N respectively. If a standard DECam Clock transition card is used with the Clock boards in the Guider backplane, clock group A drives G1S, G2S and G1N. This does not allow the algorithm flexibility required to drive the guiding system. Therefore, a special Clock Guider Transition module was designed.

The Internal Crate Controller board (ICC) monitors the DES crate environment attributes including voltage, temperature, humidity, Vicor power supply cooling fan rotation detection, and crate cooling fan rotation detection. The ICC board will turn off the Vicor power supply, and notify the Instrument Control System, if any monitored attribute goes into a fault condition. The Instrument Control System can also interrogate the ICC to determine the cause of failure as well as force the ICC board to turn off the Vicor power supply.
