Talk Abstract:
Understanding how our own Galaxy has evolved over time is paramount for understanding mass assembly in the Universe. A rapidly emerging field is galactic archaeology, which provides us with an unprecedented insight into the history of the Milky Way.  This improved comprehension of our own Galaxy evolution over time allows us to better understand what we see in other galaxies. And vice-versa, numerous data obtained on other galaxies provide us with some clues to a better knowledge of ours.

I will present my work on this topic, and describe some of the other projects I'm involved in.
