Tonight we tested remote observing with Keeper sessions. Mauricio Rojas supported the start of the night. Everything worked smoothly, and this is definitely better than observing with Zoom. Good speed, no lags. Some (small) outstanding issues: (1) ftp to transfer scripts works well but we could not find the shortcut to access the data; (2) there are problems if both the keeper session and the operators in observer4 try to use the same type of browser. A possible solution is to use Chrome if in person at the control room and Firefox if using Keeper. Another possible solution is to host the Keeper mentions in a dedicated virtual machine.
KV will soon host demo sessions with telops and decam-help teams. We should be ready to launch this mode of observation soon. Thanks to all people involved in making this happens, most specially Petri, Mauricio and Bernardo. And special thanks to Claudio, Rodrigo Hi and Rodrigo He for helping with the tests today.
For testing the remote observing I observed several satellites of the MW under 2021A-0124. Excellent seeing tonight!!
GW ToO observed after 3:20am (observing with Zoom)
