Problems:

Power of DECal system (vecal3.ctio.noao.edu) unavailable from some computers but ok from others. Please see JIRA CISS-5958.

It took several re-starts of the LabView software before the DECAL system was up and ready to do a scan (the calibration process failed several times).

SISPI gave a broken interlock due to shutter out of synchronisation. This happened at the start of a DECAL scan. No alarm was generated on the operator side.  The interlock was cleared by a "Reset" but the problem appeared again when doing zero exposure tests. After several attempts, we re-started SISPI. ok after that.

godb did not show measurements (seeing, clouds, teff) for any image tonight. An e-mail was sent to S. Kent about this.

For the bulge fields (second part of the night), the "center" command failed, likely because these are very crowded fields.

Telemetry window did not show any value for RA_offset and DEC_offset during all night. Seems the new pscjob script installed today is not working?

Comments:

First half: Engineering

Realigment of the fiber projection unit: after a late start due to problems initializing the DECAL system, we were able to complete the alignment of the lower projector unit. We need to find a way to align the other units too. Thanks to Humberto Orrego who made most of the work! Great support from Hernan Tirado during the procedure!

After that, we did starflats in grizY. Clear sky. Very good seeing. Pending for tomorrow: u, VR and N964

Second half: project 2017A-0936

Kept observing a single field with a dithering pattern all night. This is a Bulge field, very crowded. Fortunately the seeing was excellent tonight. Guider exposure time was lowered to 100ms to help with the crowding.
