The GUI is crashing much more frequently than usual (~4-5 times tonight).
The noise levels are higher than usual. Could someone check that the cables are all connected firmly?
The DS9 window was periodically very slow to respond to mouse actions (e.g. when trying to adjust the contrast).
At ~2:40 a.m., I moved to a new target and noticed some reflected light in the images (images ugc01155j.158-163). Alberto went upstairs to investigate, and found that the dome was not moving properly and that there was a smoke smell in the dome. We called David Rojas to come help. The error in the Dome GUI Status was "Can't read encoder". This problem was solved by reseting the switch for the encoder and rebooting the dome computer. Many thanks to David and Alberto for resolving this problem! 1 hour of observing time lost.
I was unable to take the darks corresponding to my science frames this morning, because the TCS kept showing as "busy" when I tried to run my script. I will troubleshoot this when I come up for calibrations later today.
