Problems:
Dome shutter remains open after the end of the night.
Although telescope worked like normal all night, there were two occassions when I tried to slew to a target, the slew in declination was incredibly slow. I fixed this by stopping the slew, and slewing to the coordinates again. It only happened twice at the beginning of the night otherwise all was fine. This might have been a fluke but figured it was worthy of note here.

Everything worked just fine at the NBTW.
Please note, the telescope is running Calib2 right now. The dome shutter still remains open.
Queue was complete with no targets skipped...yay!
Please note: V1793 Ori had the wrong coordinates in the queue and this was corrected before the frame was taken with the object properly centered.
Anyways, now we can jump right back in action!
Let's get back to another episode of the fourth season of ATV (A Man's TV) -- A Man's Journey in Estados Unidos
Episode 14 -- Alabama & Florida
Hmmm yes... the yellowhammer state and the sunshine state. Let's start with the former since I've spent more time there than the latter.
Alabama is what you definitely would call the deep south. Huntsville, also known as the rocket city, is a very attractive place for us astronomers. You can see a full exhibition of the Saturn V rocket here and the city is also where the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is located. Awesome place to nerd out and get a deep dive into the Apollo missions that were tested here. They also have many historical artificats from all the space programs such as moon rocks, parts of the old Skylab and Pathfinder, etc. This city also has the Tennessee river flowing through it which is a great spot to take your (or your friends') boat in the summer and go water skiing! I can personally tell you it is a full body workout, but after six hours, one may finally get up on both legs, even if it is just for a minute. However, if you want to go to the beach, instead of the river, my visit to the city of Mobile was a lot of fun which is weirdly not that well known. BUT if you truly want to go to a real and proper beach city, go to....
Florida! Specifically, Jacksonville, Florida. This city was in my opinion, is exactly what I pictured Florida to be. Palm trees, beaches with tons and tons of tourists, pubs and clubs and restaurants everywhere. And if you want to experience a resort town in this state instead, you should go check out Pensacola! Talk about sugar-white sand beaches and waaay less crowdy. Finally, I have to mention about the food down here though. As someone who is a sucker for states with water bodies, I'm even more obsessed with good seafood and this state has got it all. If you are ever in this state, you have to try the fried catfish, gator tails, and the key lime pie!
To the avid reader, I say this, if you want to experience what proper college sports in the US is like, go to Alabama, particularly Auburn.
But if you want to find out if you are a beach person or not, take a trip to Florida! And try the seafood!
I give Alabama a 3/10 while Florida gets a 4/10.
That's all for today folks! Tune in tomorrow for another episode of ATV.
