Commands for lamps:

min:

Moves mirror into telescope beam, (sends light from lamps to instrument).

mout:

Moves mirror out of telescope beam.

lampa:

Turns on lamp1 (He-Ar).

lampb:

Turns on lamp2 (Ne).

lampsoff:

Turns off both lamps.

fastlamp:

Turns on both lamps, does a go, and turns off both lamps.

The lamps may alternatively be controlled at the Telescope Operators terminal: The mirror is inserted with the F4 key and removed with the cntl-F4 key. To bring up the command window push the F3 key on the 4m control console key board. The lamps are turned on and off by typing clamp <#><on|off> in the command window, e.g clamp 2 on.
