Specific WILDFIRE Commands

WILDFIRE mode image names (Sun based IR systems) follow the naming convention:

where ``filename'' is an observer controlled parameter, and the number ``XXX'' is sequentially numbered (it is automatically incremented for each exposure). If you set 'oldirafname = yes' when restoring the data from tape, the image names will be restored to their original names and match the log sheets.

Note: a parameter has two attributes, its value and flags indicating whether the parameter and its value should be displayed and/or queried when the ask or observe tasks are run

Note ``fdly'' pronunced ``F delay'' is a time interval between the detector reset and the first of the two series of readouts, designed to allow the detector to settle thermally after the dissipation due to the reset address cycle. The default value is 0 second; if the integration time is less than `fdly', ``fdly'' is set equal to to the integration time. Note that this means for short integration times, one is operating at a duty cycle of 0.5 and filling the detector potential wells to twice the value indicated by the observed signal. The purpose of this delay is to give lower noise for long integrations at low background, but we have found no improvment in noise in CIRIM with longer `fdly'. Thus, we recommend an `fdly' of 0.
